We understand most people like to get several quotes for renovation work on their homes. To ensure you're comparing apples to apples, be sure to check whoever is coming to your house is licensed, insured and can provide you a valid contract for the work. For works over $20,000, the business must also provide you with a valid Home Building Compensation Fund insurance certificate.

Any reputable builder will have all of these things easily accessible for you.
